My question is about not having a child, where problems have been found in both husband and wife.
We have been married for four years, but we still have no child. I am twenty-four and my wife is twenty-three. Even though we are young, not having a child worries us, and questions also come from the family.
Tests showed that my sperm motility is low. On the other hand, my wife’s periods are not regular; they come about once every two months. So we feel that both of us need treatment together.
I have heard that diet, habits and lifestyle affect sperm motility, but I do not know what exactly to change. I also want to know why my wife’s periods may be irregular.
Our questions are:
– What are the common causes of low sperm motility?
– What are effective Ayurvedic remedies to increase sperm motility?
– What are the possible causes of periods coming every two months, and what further tests are needed?
– What treatment does Ayurveda have to regularise periods?
– What changes should we both make in diet and lifestyle?
– How long might this treatment take, and when should we get tested again?
We are both ready to take treatment together and be patient. Your clear guidance will help us move forward in the right direction.
Hello
Have a Healthy Day !!
Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.
Direct answer: Working together on the husband’s low sperm motility and the wife’s periods every two months (which suggests irregular ovulation) increases the chance of pregnancy. No remedy can guarantee a “hundred percent” result, but with tests, lifestyle improvement, and Ayurvedic Vajikarana and Artava care, many young couples see good improvement.
Understanding the problem
- Sperm motility can fall due to smoking, tobacco, alcohol, heat, infection, varicocele or poor nutrition; do not draw conclusions from a single report.
- Periods every two months are often a sign of PCOS or hormone imbalance.
- Both of you are young, which is a good thing.
The Ayurvedic view
In Ayurveda, Ritu, Kshetra, Ambu and Beeja are needed for conception. Low sperm motility is understood as Shukra Dushti (Vata-predominant), and irregular periods as Artava Dushti (Vata-Kapha obstruction). Treatment mainly involves improving Agni for both, Vajikarana for the man and Artava Shodhana for the woman.
For the husband
- Repeat semen analysis (after 2-5 days of abstinence); a urologist’s examination if needed.
- Stop smoking, tobacco and alcohol; avoid a laptop on the lap, long hot baths and tight underwear.
- Milk, ghee in moderation, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate, amla.
For the wife
- Sonography and hormone tests with a gynaecologist.
- If weight is high, reduce it gradually; walk daily, yoga.
- Less sugar, refined flour and fried food; barley, millet, moong, green vegetables.
Medicine and Panchakarma
In Ayurveda, Ashwagandha, Kaunch beej, Gokshura and Shatavari for the man, and Shatavari, Ashoka, Kanchanar and Dashamool for the woman, are considered useful. After the vaidya’s examination, therapies such as Virechana, Basti or Uttarbasti may be suggested. The right medicine, dose and timing will be decided by the vaidya after examining your condition. It takes about three months for improvement in sperm to show.
When to see a doctor?
- Pain, lump or swollen veins in the testicle
- Very heavy bleeding for the wife, or no period for more than three months
- Excess facial hair, acne, rapid weight gain (signs of PCOS)
- If there is no result even after a year of treatment, a fertility specialist
Related Questions
Can sperm motility be increased?
In many cases removing the cause and good nutrition bring improvement; test again after three months.
Can pregnancy happen if periods come every two months?
Yes, but since ovulation happens less often, regularising periods with treatment is useful.
Is there a hundred percent effective Ayurvedic medicine?
No medicine can give a hundred percent guarantee; results differ for each couple.
In short: With the husband’s low sperm motility and the wife’s periods every two months, treating both together increases the chance of pregnancy. Repeat tests, avoiding smoking and heat, improving weight and diet, and Vajikarana and Artava care on a vaidya’s advice are useful.
You can consult in person or online with both your reports.
