Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

Ayurvedic cause of the problem

According to Ayurveda, the main cause of low weight, stunted growth and weakness is agnimandya – weak digestive fire.

When food is not digested properly, the dhatus (rakta, mamsa, asthi and others) do not get enough nourishment from the food essence. As a result, growth stops, bones become weak and strength reduces.

In some cases heredity, stress, lack of sleep and a wrong diet pattern can also be causes.

Treatment plan

1. Ayurvedic medicines – the following are beneficial for growth and weight gain:

  • Ashwagandha churna / tablet – to build muscles and strength
  • Shatavari kalpa / granules – for nourishment and growth of dhatus
  • Balarishta + Ashwagandharishta – for body strength and strong bones
  • Good-quality Chyavanprash – every morning, on an empty stomach or after a meal, but not together with milk
  • Brimhana tonic mix: equal parts of ashwagandha, shatavari, gokshura and yashtimadhu, taken morning and evening with warm milk

The dose, timing and duration of medicines should be decided with a vaidya’s advice according to the person’s digestion and nature.

2. Panchakarma (detox + rejuvenation)

  • Abhyanga (oil massage): daily massage with ashwagandha oil or sesame oil
  • Swedana (sneha sweda): gives lightness and energy to the body
  • Brimhana nasya: excellent for brain and hormonal balance
  • Basti (brimhana basti): especially effective for strength, weight and bone growth

3. Yogasanas and exercise – 30–45 minutes of yogasanas and light exercise every day. Beneficial asanas:

  • Surya namaskar
  • Bhujangasana
  • Shalabhasana
  • Vrikshasana
  • Matsyasana

These asanas improve digestion, increase blood circulation and balance hormones.

4. Diet and precautions

  • Take fresh, warm and nourishing food.
  • Take milk, ghee, dal, chana, sesame, dates, figs and dry fruits regularly.
  • Take ashwagandha / shatavari in milk morning and evening.
  • Do not stay hungry for long periods.
  • Stay away from fast food, cold drinks, biscuits, chips and packaged items.
  • Get enough sleep (7–8 hours at night).
  • Stop market snacks; avoid very spicy, salty and sour food, pickles and fermented items.
