Namaskar Sir, I am 36. I have had anxiety for a long time, because of which my BP rises, and I have constipation and gas. I feel afraid when going out, and my weight has increased. Sometimes I get pain on the left side of the head for a while. Treatment for a mental health problem is going on. Gas stays high. I take Shankh vati. Please suggest the right treatment. Thank you.

Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

As per your problem, you are 36 years old. You have had anxiety for a long time, which raises your BP, along with constipation and gas, fear of going out, weight gain and occasional pain on the left side of the head.

From the Ayurvedic point of view, all these complaints are connected. When the mind is worried and anxious, vata and pitta are disturbed, so digestion weakens and gas and constipation occur; and when gas fills the stomach, anxiety and BP also increase. So the mind and the stomach both need to be treated together.

Important: Do not stop the treatment going on for your mental health problem without your doctor’s advice. Keep checking your BP regularly. The following Ayurvedic medicines can be taken along with it.

Continue the following medicines for 3 months and then contact us once so that the next step can be planned.

  1. Brahmi vati – 1 tablet morning and evening with water
  2. Medhya rasayan tablet – 2 tablets morning and evening
  3. Ashwagandha churna – half a teaspoon at night with warm milk
  4. Shankh vati – 2 tablets after meals (continue what you take now)
  5. Eranda-bhrishta haritaki churna – 1 teaspoon at bedtime with lukewarm water

Panchakarma – Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment will also be beneficial:

  1. Virechana karma
  2. Basti karma
  3. Shirodhara (especially useful in anxiety and headache)

Diet –

  • Stop market snacks and take fresh, light food.
  • Avoid very spicy, salty, sour, fried and fermented food.
  • Reduce tea-coffee; do not eat dinner late.
  • Sit in Vajrasana for 5 minutes after meals.

Yoga – Pranayama – At such a time, stay away from negative thoughts and always think positively. Walk for 30 minutes every morning and practise yoga, pranayama and meditation for faster benefit.

  1. Anulom-vilom pranayama
  2. Bhramari pranayama
  3. Pavanamuktasana
  4. Shavasana
  5. Meditation – 10 minutes daily
