My 31-Year-Old Wife Does Not Ovulate, No Child for Four Years

Share with:

My question is about my wife not ovulating and our not having a child.

My wife is thirty-one years old, and we have been married for four years. In this time we still have no child. As time passes, the worry in our minds keeps growing, especially about her age.

The doctor’s tests showed that my wife does not ovulate, that is, eggs do not form. After learning this we understood that this may be one main reason for not having a child. But we do not know much about why ovulation does not happen and how it can be improved.

We are also thinking about Ayurvedic treatment, because we have heard that Ayurveda works on the body’s balance.

Our questions are:
– What are the common causes of not ovulating?
– Which further tests should be done to find the cause?
– What treatment or medicine is available in Ayurveda to improve ovulation?
– Is body purification such as Panchakarma useful in this?
– What changes should be made in diet, weight and lifestyle?
– Does the husband also need to be tested?
– Given her age, after how long should other options be considered?

We are ready to take proper treatment with patience. With your guidance we will be able to move forward in the right direction, and the uncertainty in our minds will also reduce.

Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

Direct answer: Not ovulating (anovulation) is a common and mostly treatable cause of infertility in women. By finding the root cause, such as PCOS, thyroid, prolactin or weight problems, and taking Ayurvedic Artava care along with the gynaecologist’s treatment, ovulation improves in many women.

Understanding the problem

Ovulation needs coordination between the brain, the ovaries and hormones. High or very low weight, stress, excessive exercise, PCOS, thyroid and prolactin disturb this coordination. Age 31 is good, but timely treatment is important. The husband’s semen report is also needed alongside.

The Ayurvedic view

In Ayurveda, problems related to the egg are understood in the context of Artava Dushti and Beeja Dushti. Imbalanced movement of Vata and obstruction by Kapha are considered the main factors. Ritu, Kshetra, Ambu and Beeja are needed for conception, and treatment mainly involves improving Agni, Artava Shodhana and Rasayana.

Practical steps

  • Hormone tests (thyroid, prolactin, AMH and others) and sonography with the gynaecologist.
  • Semen analysis for the husband.
  • If weight is high, reduce it slowly; if low, increase it through nutrition.
  • Daily walking, yoga, enough sleep; less stress.
  • Do not stop the gynaecologist’s ongoing medicine on your own.

Diet

  • Fresh, home-made, balanced food; barley, millet, moong, sesame, green vegetables, fruit.
  • Less sugar, refined flour, fried food and cold drinks.

Medicine and Panchakarma

In Ayurveda, substances such as Shatavari, Ashoka, Dashamool and Phala Ghrita are considered useful for Artava and uterine health. After the vaidya’s examination, therapies such as Virechana, Basti or Uttarbasti may be suggested. The right medicine, dose and timing will be decided by the vaidya after examining your condition. If taking it along with the gynaecologist’s ovulation treatment, inform both.

When to see a doctor?

  • No period for more than three months
  • Excess facial hair, acne, rapid weight gain
  • Milky discharge from the breasts (prolactin)
  • If ovulation does not happen even after a year of treatment, a fertility specialist

Related Questions

How can one know whether ovulation is happening?

Through a follicle study (sonography), an ovulation kit or hormone tests.

Why does ovulation not happen in PCOS?

Because of hormone imbalance and insulin-related changes, the egg does not develop fully.

Can Ayurvedic medicine be taken with ovulation medicine?

Often as support, but after informing both the gynaecologist and the vaidya.

In short: Not ovulating is a common and mostly treatable cause of infertility. Hormone tests, treating causes such as PCOS and thyroid, improving weight, testing the husband and Ayurvedic Artava care are useful.
