I am 51 years old. I checked my blood sugar 1.5 hours after a meal (PPBS) and it was 153. Please tell me how to keep it in range and what I should do so that I do not get diabetes.

Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

  • Ideally the post-meal test should be done exactly two hours after a full meal, so please get the report done once more that way and send it again.
  • As per the report you sent, there does not seem to be any problem right now, so there is no reason to worry.
  • In a sense, there is nothing special to “prevent” diabetes if you do not have it; there is no reason to assume that someone who does not have it will surely get it. So instead of thinking about how not to get diabetes, think about how to stay healthy:
  • Wake up early in the morning.
  • Walk briskly about 3 km.
  • Do yogasanas and pranayama.
  • Do not take stale food.
  • Eat and sleep on time.
  • Eat according to the season.
  • Follow the rules of diet and avoid incompatible foods (viruddha ahara).

Get your fasting sugar and HbA1c checked periodically as advised by your doctor.
