Constipation despite regular yoga and walking – hereditary?

I regularly do 2 hours of pranayama and asanas in the morning and walk for 1 hour in the evening. I eat at 9 am and 7 pm, yet I stay constipated. My Ayurveda and allopathy doctor friends say it may be hereditary. Please suggest a treatment. Thank you.

Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

You regularly do pranayama, asanas and walking and eat on time – that is very good. Even if it is “hereditary constipation”, it can be treated; in Ayurveda this is krura koshtha (dry intestines – vata nature), where the intestines need lubrication (sneha).

  1. Gandharva haritaki churna – 1 teaspoon at night with lukewarm water
  2. 1 teaspoon of cow’s ghee in warm milk at night
  3. Triphala churna – 1 teaspoon at night (alternate with Gandharva haritaki)
  4. 2 glasses of lukewarm water on waking in the morning
  5. Massage the abdomen with castor oil once a week

Diet: More wheat bran, papaya, figs, black raisins, ghee and green vegetables. Stop bajra, chana, biscuits, maida, fridge water and too much tea. Always include a little ghee in meals.

Panchakarma: Matra basti / Anuvasan basti – the most effective for this kind of constipation.
