Hysteria / epilepsy (vaai) – Ayurvedic support

Sir, my wife has had hysteria – what we call vaai in Gujarati – for about 20 years. We have been married for about six years; she did not tell me before marriage. When it happens: 1. her breathing becomes fast like a bellows, 2. her eyes open very wide, 3. she loses control of body movements, 4. sometimes she passes urine. All this happens within 5–15 seconds, and then she becomes normal. We take allopathic medicines as advised by our district-level psychiatrists, but there is no solid result (currently t-maz 200). Please suggest any Ayurvedic and home remedy.

Hello

Have a Healthy Day !!

Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.

As per your problem, your wife’s condition is vaai/hysteria, which Ayurveda also calls yoshapasmara.

In this type of trouble caused by disturbance in brain functions, Ayurvedic medicines that strengthen the nerves can be given along with the ongoing medicine.

In this condition, never stop the ongoing, settled allopathic medicine on your own. By starting Ayurvedic medicine along with it, the medicine may be reduced in the long run, but regular visits and guidance from the doctor are essential for all of this.

The following medicines are useful, but do not take them on your own – take them only with proper guidance:

  1. Suvarna Brahmi vati
  2. Medhya rasayan
  3. Saraswat churna
  4. Saraswatarishta
  5. Brahmi ghrita
  6. Saraswat ghrita
  7. Nidrajanan yoga
  8. Sarpagandha vati, etc.

Mental cheerfulness is the main medicine for this. Daily prayer, meditation, good thoughts, yogasanas and pranayama are necessary.

Diet:

  • Stop market snacks and take fresh, light food
  • Avoid very spicy, salty and sour food
  • Avoid pickles and fermented items

Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment will also be beneficial:

  1. Nasya karma
  2. Basti karma
  3. Shirodhara

At such a time, stay away from negative thoughts and always think positively.

Yogasanas:

  1. Paschimottanasana
  2. Chakrasana
  3. Pavanamuktasana
  4. Padmasana
  5. Pranayama

Note:

Advice given here is based on safety and availability everywhere. However, the result may depend on the quality of the manufacturer of the medicines.

We also have good quality medicines available. We make medicines on a non-commercial basis and dispatch them only from our clinic.
