Hello
Have a Healthy Day !!
Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.
Direct answer: Excess facial and body hair (hirsutism) and irregular periods are often linked to hormonal imbalance, most commonly PCOS. Both of you should get a hormone check-up. Ayurveda helps by improving metabolism, weight and the menstrual cycle; hair growth reduces slowly over months.
Understanding the problem
Long-standing hirsutism may be due to PCOS, thyroid problems, family tendency or other hormone issues. Irregular periods for a year in your sister also need checking for PCOS and thyroid.
The Ayurvedic view
In Ayurveda, PCOS-like conditions are linked to Kapha and Meda blocking the channels of Artava, with weak Agni. Treatment reduces Kapha and Meda, improves Agni and regulates the cycle.
Practical steps
- Hormone tests, thyroid, sugar and pelvic ultrasound as the doctor advises.
- Daily brisk walk or exercise; weight control helps a lot.
- Regular sleep, less stress.
Diet
- Less sugar, sweets, bakery and fried food.
- More vegetables, millets, moong, fresh fruits in moderate amount.
Medicine, yoga and Panchakarma
Herbs such as Shatavari, Ashoka, Kanchnar Guggulu, Varun and Panchakarma such as Vamana or Virechana (in selected cases) are used. The right medicine, dose and duration will be decided by the Vaidya after examining each of you. Surya Namaskar and Pranayama are useful.
When to see a doctor?
- No periods for three months or more
- Sudden increase in hair, voice change, acne or weight gain
Related Questions
Will Ayurveda remove the hair completely?
It reduces new growth slowly by correcting the cause; existing hair may need cosmetic removal.
In short: Hirsutism and irregular periods are often due to PCOS or hormone imbalance; get tested, control weight and diet, and Ayurvedic treatment can balance hormones over time.
You can consult in person or online with your reports.
