I am a C.A. final student, aged 23. I have had constipation for the last 10–12 years. My nature is reserved and solitary. For the last year I have had many stomach problems – gas, acidity, indigestion and constipation are routine. I do pranayama for 20 minutes about five days a week. My exams are two months away and I study 12–13 hours a day, but because of these problems I cannot do much work. A month ago a gastroenterologist advised me to walk at night after dinner and gave me isabgol and other medicines; he said I have digestion problems. My weight is only 46 kg – I have lost 8 kg in 1.5 years. All my reports, sonography and X-ray are normal. This is a very crucial time for my career. Please suggest how I can overcome these problems in these 90 days so I can concentrate on my studies.
Hello
Have a Healthy Day !!
Welcome to the world of health from Ayurveda conducted by Dr. Nikul Patel.
As per your problem, you have gas, acidity, indigestion and stomach problems that also cause constipation. Because of the constipation your attention always stays on your stomach, which makes you anxious. You have consulted many doctors, you walk after dinner, your weight has decreased, isabgol and other medicines have not helped and all reports are normal – so your tension has also increased, along with exam stress.
To come out of these problems, the most important thing is to increase your digestive power. Keep the following in mind:
- Wake up early regularly and walk briskly for at least 20–25 minutes.
- Do pranayama for 15 minutes.
- Eat regularly.
- The more you sleep on time, eat on time and wake up early on time, the better your digestion will settle.
Exam or not, you must sleep 6–7 hours regularly. Do not stay awake at night and sleep during the day in the name of exams; sleep at night, study early in the morning and go to bed early. This alone will make your problem much lighter.
Another very important point: remove from your mind the idea that you have a serious illness. It is only a digestion problem, and that is causing all these issues, which you can improve with Ayurvedic medicine. Because you have lost 8 kg, keep your gastroenterologist informed.
Continue the following for 5–6 months and contact once afterwards:
- Chitrakadi vati 2 tablets twice a day after meals
- Avipattikar tablet 2 tablets twice a day
- Lavan Bhaskar churna 1 teaspoon with buttermilk after meals
- Medhya rasayan tablet 2 tablets twice a day
- Gastron syrup 10 ml, shaken well, three times a day
- Erand-bhrishta haritaki churna 1 teaspoon at bedtime with lukewarm water
Diet:
- Stop market snacks and take fresh, light food
- Avoid very spicy, salty and sour food
- Avoid pickles and fermented items
Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment will also be beneficial:
- Virechana karma
- Basti karma
- Shirodhara
At such a time, stay away from negative thoughts and always think positively.
If you go for a walk every morning and practise yoga, pranayama and meditation, you will benefit faster.
For better results, practise the following regularly:
- Paschimottanasana
- Chakrasana
- Pavanamuktasana
- Pranayama
